“Are you feeling stressed out? I hear you!
My personal experience of Perimenopause began in 2020, and at the time I had very limited understanding of what was going on and why, it was a tough time. Over the preceding years I have been on quite the journey, which has led me to creating Menopause Yoga + classes, informed by the lessons and knowledge I have gained on my personal journey, but also by hearing, reading and sharing the stories of others. Midlife is a wonderful opportunity for transformation and I aim in my classes to create the space. time and movement that is needed to allow this journey to unfold in a way that lets my students feel safe, head and heard.
In my classes I get to share my passion and huge knowledge of perimenopause/menopause, in order to support women through this transition, we also have a book club and I love the discussions that come from this each week.
I use my work as a yoga teacher to provide rest and relief, not just physical but also emotional. I have created a community where women can share safely and access the support they need. I also bring in my work as an aromatherapist to my sessions, supporting my students using the wonderful world of essential oils too. ”

So what’s yoga got to do with it, then?
YOGA IS WONDERFUL FOR:
Reducing the feeling of stress and anxiety so often experienced.
Easing common muscle aches and pains which our bodies have at this time.
Helping us stay healthy as our bodies change, working on strengthening and toning the body to stay fit and strong.
Improving mood and our sense of self worth, through the use of positive mantra’s.
Learning techniques to reduce stress, so that when life gets tricky, we have the ability to stay calm.
It’s amazing for deep rest and relaxation (especially when paired with essential oils). Supporting us to get more rest when the body needs it.
Allowing us to have time and space to navigate this big change in our lives. Yoga gives us the space to acknowledge and accept that things are going to be different, and that that’s not a bad thing!

“I’ve been having a tough couple of years (I think so many of us have!) and Heather’s class is one of the best things I do for myself. I really appreciate the fun, warm and most of all, non-judgmental atmosphere she creates in her classes. I can be hard of myself at times and don’t really enjoy exercise that much but with the flow and the affirmations, I always leave feeling better, mentally and physically than when I arrived. Thanks so much.””
